Why a portfolio, not one strategy
It's the trader's awareness that makes it profitable — not the strategy.
If one strategy always worked, hedge funds would put a single trader on it instead of employing dozens of quantitative analysts running dozens of models. Every strategy goes through rough patches — the edge comes from knowing how to navigate the market when that happens, not from finding a strategy that never has one.
01
LLM leads because it adapts
My main strategy is LLM. Its strong discretionary component lets it adjust to changing market conditions instead of breaking when they shift.
02
Automated strategies rotate to stay balanced
Several automated systems run alongside it, rotated in and out so the portfolio stays balanced instead of exposed to a single market regime.
03
Manual and automated work together
Custom indicators tie the discretionary and automated sides together, so manual reads and automated execution inform each other instead of running separately.
About
About Mike Lingotti Trading Desk.
I've been trading financial markets since 2018. Over the years, the single most expensive lesson I've learned has nothing to do with entry triggers or stop-loss placement — it's the simple fact that every single strategy, no matter how good it is, goes through dead periods.
01
Every strategy has dead periods
A discretionary setup that delivers great returns for six months can easily hit an eight-week drawdown without you doing a single thing wrong. An Expert Advisor with flawless backtests can produce a flat quarter the moment market regimes shift.
The issue isn't the strategy itself. The problem is that most traders only have one strategy — so when a tough patch hits, they start doubting the method, abandon it, or resort to revenge trading.
02
The edge: portfolio management & system execution
True consistency relies on overall system management, not a single magic entry.
What transformed my path since 2018 was moving away from the hunt for a "holy grail" and building a portfolio of uncorrelated strategies. By combining discretionary execution with algorithmic systems across multiple timeframes and assets, drawdown in one component is absorbed by the performance of the others.
As a trader and entrepreneur, my approach centres on executing proprietary quantitative strategies — including our custom LLM framework — alongside robust manual setups. This hybrid approach allows us to dynamically adapt to shifting market regimes and maintain a persistent, statistical edge.
Whether you trade personal capital or manage prop firm accounts, overall portfolio risk management will always matter more than the setup rules of any single strategy.
03
The mission
Before hunting for the "perfect strategy," build a system designed to survive when your current setup temporarily stops working.
Through Mike Lingotti Trading Desk, I provide traders with the exact framework I use to navigate the markets: proprietary MT5 Expert Advisors, TradingView indicators, and a structured multi-strategy methodology built for long-term survival and growth.
Prop firm mastery
Scaling capital with PropKiller & robust systems.
In modern trading, the biggest challenge isn't just finding an edge — it's securing the capital required to extract meaningful returns. Integrating prop firm accounts has been a core pillar of the Mike Lingotti Trading Desk framework.
Passing challenges and securing consistent payouts requires moving away from high-risk gambling and executing a disciplined, drawdown-management protocol.
How PropKiller redefines evaluation phases.
Most traders treat prop challenges like a lottery, burning accounts through emotional over-leveraging. PropKiller MT5 EA was built with a fundamentally different objective: speed when conditions are optimal, absolute safety when they aren't.
01
Fast Pass Probability
When market conditions align, PropKiller's algorithmic logic is engineered to hit the profit target and pass the evaluation phase in just a few trading days.
02
Capital Protection Architecture
If market conditions turn unfavorable, the algorithm automatically slows down and defends the account rather than blowing it. It strictly respects daily and max drawdown limits, ensuring you never fail the challenge on autopilot.
03
Hybrid Control (Trader Intervention)
PropKiller doesn't trap you in a black box. If an evaluation hits a flat period, it leaves the account healthy and gives you total freedom to intervene, adjust parameters, or take over discretionarily based on your market bias.
The goal
Stop blowing challenge after challenge. Build a sustainable framework designed to pass evaluations fast when the market permits, safeguard your equity when it doesn't, and secure regular payouts over time.
